Hi. My name is Karen. I am a retiring Special Education teacher. I have had experience working with elderly and disabled individuals for 17 yrs. I have worked as a caregiver for: an elderly client for 4 1/2yrs, a disabled young man for 5 yrs, and many students with a variety of disabilities, as a teacher. Additionally, I directly participated in the elder care for both of my parents in their time of need. I think my background gives me an understanding of both the client and the family's needs during this stage of life. It is my desire to provide the care with understanding. From my experience caregiving, I see that care involves more than physical management; it involves emotional support, as the client and the family navigate this stage of life.
