I have almost 20yrs experience as a personal care aide and I have held state certification for medication administration for 17yrs as well as additional medication administration from the company I'm currently employed with. I have worked in nursing homes, group homes, and done lots of 1 on one care in the home. I have training as a certified nursing assistant, however my certification did expire when I went to school to obtain my associate's degree in human services. That program offered entry level training in crisis management, psychiatric care, and other areas of the human services profession. I am currently certified in CPR, 1st aide, NC Crisis Intervention, and have classes yearly on infection control, diabetes management, universal precautions, and refresher classes on working with special populations.
