I am interested in obtaining a career in healthcare. I graduated in 2006 from the Fundamentals of Nursing program at Frederick Career and Technology Center, where I received top honors in the necessary training to be a nursing assistant. In the class, I was trained and certified in skills such as bathing, shaving, ambulation, hygiene, dressing, and many other skills involved in the activities of daily living. I also received my certification for CPR and 1st aid. I have training for these skills in the nursing home setting as well as the hospital setting, and private residence. I have received extra training in dementia and caring for patients with dementia. My job experience includes a GNA at Vindobona Nursing home as well as Long View Nursing home, a private nursing aide with Regent Healthcare and Right at Home, and most recently a caregiver with Home Instead.
