Aspiring Immigration Attorney - (Valley Stream, NY)
To Whom It May Concern: I am submitting this letter as well as my resume for consideration to the Immigration Intern position. I am a recent college graduate with experience in assisting with administrative, clerical, processing, and project work. I have a passion for immigration law due to having had a childhood full of court dates, appeals, talk about green cards, and the constant fear of being separated. My father migrated from Mexico when he was about fifteen years old. He worked in low paying jobs to be able to send his parents money. A couple of years after his migration, he went back to Mexico and married my mother. They both decided that because America was the land of opportunity they were going to raise a family there as opposed to staying in their civil war ridden native land. They, innocently, came to the United States for a better tomorrow but once they were questioned about their migrant status, that’s when the court dates, the appeals, and the talk about green cards initiated.
