I was promoted to management as an Info Technology Specialist in 1980 and held that position for twenty 1 and a half years. Pacific NW Bell was then acquired by US West Communications, QWEST Communications, and currently CenturyLink. While functioning as an IT network administrator, I broadened my technical background developing in-house UNIX shell script programs which were used across 24X7 shift coverage to effectively manage and monitor multiple Front-End Processors that served as customer records database systems. These shell scripts were used to report processors that were about to fail, giving our IT team an advanced head start to begin recovery procedures that resulted in less down-time to our customers. Proficient using MS Office Suite applications.
